Great article. Sunseeker Energy AG (listed on Deutche Borse) has just signed an agreement with US company Nations Roof (Georgia) that should see Sunseeker get a foothold in the US marketplace in coming months for their Segmented Parabola Units. They have been independently tested at over 36% conversion efficiency (compared with flat silicon panel efficiency of around 14%).

You may think that the solar energy market is great and wonderful, but I would still recommend caution. Why you ask? People have been trying to make solar energy a viable market for 40+ years and it was not until oil pushed $100 a barrel until it started making business sense. If solar energy is such a good idea, why do so many governments subsidize it so heavily? It should be able to stand on it's own two legs without governement intervention. The fact is that solar energy is expensive energy. You note a recent Gallop Poll that states that a majority of Americans support higher fuel efficiency standards, but what is not noted the that these people do not understand the economic cost in order to have the higher standards. All this at a time when the global economy has been flushed once and the US Government is trying to double flush. Ouch.
