Great article and I am sorry but I have to disagree with the JobFox VP...I tried to use that site in my search and eventually got FED UP as all they were doing is trying to sell me resume writing services. I found very few relevant job matches on the site.

Very good comprehensive review of the major sites. I'm finding Linked In, Indeed and SimplyHired are the best resources for me. Also I was a Criag's List skeptic, but have recently had two very good interviews from jobs I sourced on the site...so there are gems in there, but as you mentioned the job seeker MUST excercise caution with the site.

Great job!

Great article - very comprehensive. If you are looking for a very thorough review of how to effectively leverage LinkedIn in your job search, you may find this article especially helpful:

David,

As an employee of SnagAJob.com, I can confirm for you that we are indeed the nation’s #1 source for hourly employment. However, I am curious as to where you got the statement "the #1 job site for hourly employment and entry level opportunities"? While we have many entry-level opportunities on our site, we also have a whole host of jobs for managers and experienced professionals.

As I’m sure you know, some jobs in the hourly job market have a high turnover rate. The hourly turnover rate for restaurants hovers at about 100% and in some industries can be much higher. As a result, some employers choose to keep jobs listed on our site year round. These evergreen job postings allow employers to build up a pool of job applicants for when positions become available. Just because the Pizza Hut location you mentioned in your article isn’t hiring today, that doesn’t mean they won’t be hiring tomorrow.

We encourage our job seekers to follow up with hiring managers in 4-6 weeks and apply to similar jobs in their area to maximize their chances of getting a job.

To learn more, please visit www.SnagAJob.com.

Thank you,
Stefanie Fontanez

David,

Your article is certainly timely, however as the Marketing VP for Jobfox, your readers should know that millions of job seekers use Jobfox to be matched to jobs with thousands of employers as a no cost service.

If offering to assist job seekers with optional, added value services like having a professional resume written is a taboo, then I guess you could say we're as guilty as this Money Morning site which offered me no less than 12 opportunities to purchase premium content above what you provide for free.

By the way, adoption of our resume writing services by the millions of job seekers coming to our site has rapidly established Jobfox as one of the largest resume writing services in the country, so we seem to be providing an offering that's very well received among job seekers using our free service.
