I have nothing against these, overall it's for our benefits. Solar company in our country are just taking measures to protect their financial interest. If they are so eager to up scale their profit why not are they building their factory in China. There's no doubt that building solar panels will be the mainstream in short time as grid cost gets higher and higher. As technology advances, production of solar power materials are more competitive than ever.

Very interesting article. As a solar enthusiast, Phoenix-area resident, and First Solar stockholder, I'm glad to see this trend!

Just a quick correction:
500 megawatts = 500 MW, not 500 mW (which is 500 milliwatts, or half a Watt). :)

Hey, I must wonder: is Suntech aware of the fact that the Minimum Wage in the US is not $0.30 per hour?

Oh, wait - I forgot - the Chinese Government "subsidy" will cover the assembly/labor difference of $6.95 per hour, not to mention the cost of panel materials & shipping, factory construction / all ongoing facility related overhead, management/administration costs, etc, etc etc...

What a JOKE!

So, will Obama have the Balls to address this issue? (He at least seems to have initially done something correctly regarding Chinese tire imports - unless he backs off on that under Beijing pressure.)
