[...] However, as I pointed out at the time, the mad scramble of last fall was perhaps the largest head fake in market history. In a bizarre outcome, investors holding gold, commodities, foreign currencies, and foreign equities suffered the biggest short-term losses. Yet, the rally of recent months in those markets likely indicates that last year’s violent downward move was simply a correction in ongoing long-term bull markets. [...]

OK - neck on the block time - the bullion bank prompt shorts in gold and silver have to deliver or buy back. The speculative longs have to do exactly nothing except take delivery if the price is manipulated too low as September goes off the board.

I think the shorts cannot win this game. Last time out, the Hunt brothers were right, and it took legalised theft to change the market rules on them.

Hold on to your gold and silver.

I think the biggest factor is the cultural view of the Asians and Indians toward gold. Dowries and high caratage, combined with more discretionery money, makes gold the go to place for them. Also, gold tend to work well for the less experienced investor in that region of the world.

Gold is hitting it big time. Why do you think some unscrupulous companies are spending tons of advertising dollars to buy up peoples gold? They say send us your gold...and we'll send you a check. Don't be a putz and get duped by these crooks. Some don't even give you 10% of its real value. Real crooks taking advantage of people, buying their gold for what amounts to a song.
Informative article. Been a gold bug for some time now, and it looks to be getting better! People...hold on to your gold with an iron fist!!

Very interesting, as usual. Do you think GDX, the proxy for gold miners, still offers a good place to take a position on gold? Thanks.
