its easy to figure that out. the reason why US companies are not buying into Iraqi oil fields is the impending war against Iran. it make economic sense for the oligarchs in the U.S. to buy shares bigtime into european and other companies who have ownership of the oilfields then dump the shares when the war breaks out....

i believe the reason why the us companies have not got any bids is because they dont intend to own any oilfields outright. there is logic to this if you believe that the looming war against Iran is an inevitable reality. it maks economic sense for oligarchs in the US to own shares in Shell and other companies that own those oilfields and then dump them when the war breaks out....

Chevron and Exxon were ready to sign in 2008 until Senators John Kerry and Chuckie Schumer stuck their noses in. So Iraq just moved on with out them.

More like they've been told not to bid for political reasons of which there are a number. One of which would be to confirm the war was for oil, wouldn't be politically correct.

At 2.85 BILLION barrels per day BPL and CNPC have only one weeks production. You should FIRE your innumerate proof reader. This sort of sloppiness which is frequent in your newsletter undermines your credibility with all numbers. There are probably many more errors which are not so glaringly obvious.
I wonder if U S oil companies have access to information about U S government plans or policies that discourages them from any 20 year investment in Iraq.

If U.S. Companies aren't winning Bids in Iraq??

Wake up America - Wanton Greed, Hefty Profits by a few, High Overheads fed by and through Old Boy network bullying has lost its sting in this day and age of intelligent and resouceful global competition.

America will clean house and be the world leader in industry once again..... if the American spirit of enterprise and honest people clear the cobwebs and call a spade a spade once again.

Come on America.... take your destined leadership role to bring positive development to the world and not just to the rich many in Corporate USA.

Isn't that great? The U.S. sacrifices American lives and spends billions to "free" Iraq, and oil companies from countries hostile to U.S. interests get the gravy.

Only half-surprised at this result to be honest.
Either the American Oil companies know there is much less real oil in those fields than Iraq pretends there is, or - and that's my personal unproven opinion - there was nonetheless an important political pressure from inside Iraq not to award any deal to US companies. Why the Brits should have got more goes beyond my understanding, since they both are just as much involved in the war against Iraq. Surprising though, since US technology still appears to be ways ahead of anyone else. Who knows who is playing a middleman's role in all those deals. You certainly have more of an answer to that than I do.
