Candidates vying for the 2016 presidential election have raised an astronomical $1 billion on their quests to win the Oval Office, according to Federal Election Committee (FEC) data released on March 21.

That figure accounts for $619 million raised by the candidates themselves, plus another $412 million raised by the super PACs supporting them.
