Cheap Stocks to Buy Now That Could Double Your Money

Individual investors have always had a soft spot for cheap stocks to buy, but get scared away because traditional Wall Street dogma would have you believe that these stocks are too speculative and dangerous for most individuals.

But cheap stocks can be among the best stocks to buy because they bring several advantages to a portfolio.

Fed Strategy from Mohammed Ali

Bernanke's actions last week – failing to taper, yet still trying to maintain the illusion that QE is a good thing – are setting up a one-two punch that's not unlike boxing champion Mohammed Ali's famous "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" approach.

If you recall, Ali was a master of the combination – some say the best ever. He loved to bring his opponents in close. Ali could see through the duplicity of his opponents' strategy and land punches that won decisively.

Ali did that using combinations that were based in fighting terms on two contrasts: high-low or short-long, or even left and right. He pressed every advantage he could find, even when others thought there were none to be had. Knowing he wanted to go the full 15 rounds, Ali developed a strategy that would become known as the "rope-a-dope" as a means of tiring out his opponents early on, then vanquishing them in later rounds when the fight really began.

I think we should take a page from Ali's playbook and split the "fight" Bernanke's presented us with into two distinct time zones: the current "round," and those that happen down the line. One short. One long.

Is that possible?

Absolutely. What's more, it's easy to do.

First, though, put yourself in Bernanke's place...

The Chrysler IPO Is a Win-Win for Investors

Chrysler LLC has filed for an initial public offering (IPO), returning to publicly traded status after 15 years in the wilderness of global business uncertainty – and the Chrysler IPO comes at a great time for the company and for the whole American auto industry.

You see, not even five years ago, the Big Three were teetering on the edge of destruction and irrelevance, with dismal sales and empty coffers, running losses in the hundreds of millions on products that nobody wanted. The global financial crisis was the last nail in a coffin more than 10 years in the crafting.

Why BlackBerry (Nasdaq: BBRY) Stock Price Keeps Falling

BlackBerry Ltd. (Nasdaq: BBRY) stock suffered a black eye last week, but now a white knight hopes to turn things around for the company.

BBRY plunged 17% Friday after the company announced it's anticipating a quarterly loss of nearly $1 billion, due largely in part to the failure of the new BlackBerry 10 line of phones. The BB10s were supposed to be the shot in the arm the ailing company needed.

Why the Falling U.S. Dollar Is Just a Hint of What's to Come

It's been a wild year for the greenback. While the falling U.S. dollar of last week can be blamed on the U.S. Federal Reserve's surprise decision not to taper its bond buying, for most of the past two years, the dollar has been rising.

In fact, before the FOMC meeting last week, the dollar was up 12% since mid-2011.

And yet while the factors contributing to a rising U.S. dollar are likely to continue for a while, investors also need to be aware of several long-term threats to the dollar that eventually will fatally weaken the currency.

2 Key "Turnaround" Stocks to Buy Now

One of the best ways to make money in the stock market is to spot stocks to buy with high growth potential before Wall Street and the big investment firms recognize these budding winners.

One way to do that is to shop for companies that have been losing money but are showing signs of profitability – "turnaround" stocks, I like to call them.

The ideal turnaround stocks will surprise to the upside and return long-term profits.

Best Stocks to Buy: A Roundup from the Money Morning Investment Team

Last week's best stocks to buy list at Money Morning stemmed from key events from the U.S. Federal Reserve – if you missed it, here's what you need to know…
