Investing in ETFs is a popular trend today.
ETFs, or "exchange-traded funds," are relatively new investment vehicles that are rapidly gaining in popularity. The exchange-traded fund industry hit another record in the first quarter of 2014 with $1.73 trillion in assets.
ETF investing offers a similar level of safety and diversity as mutual fund investing, but ETFs can be treated more like stock shares for greater flexibility.
Instead of being restricted to end-of-day trading as is the case with mutual funds, ETF shares can be bought or sold at any time during normal market hours. Additionally, ETFs are typically cheaper for investors - they don't carry the expense of having a fund manager, as is the case with mutual funds.
While investing in ETFs carries significant advantages over mutual funds, choosing funds with high yield may serve to add value to your portfolio as well as allow you to enjoy a greater return on investment.
Profit Alert: Over time you can make more money in dividends than you paid to buy the stocks that produce them. Get today's best dividend strategy for building wealth in the low-yield era.
Not all ETFs pay dividends, however.
Here, we've comprised a list of ten high-yielding ETFs (a dividend yield of at least 3% or higher)...
