Apple Stock (AAPL) News: Bigger iPhone Screens to Satisfy Emerging Markets

Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), Money Morning Defense & Tech Specialist Michael A. Robinson appeared on FOX Business' "Varney & Co." to talk Apple stock (Nasdaq: AAPL).

Suppliers in China are set to start producing iPhones with bigger screens in July. In 2011 and prior, all iPhones had a 3.5-inch screen. Then, Apple launched the iPhone 5 and 5s, which sported 4-inch displays. But the newest offerings are reported to have 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens.

How High the Alibaba IPO Price Could Climb

It has been widely estimated that the Alibaba IPO will be one of the largest IPOs of all-time and possibly even the largest IPO in U.S. history.

But the investment research firm Morningstar upped the ante this week when it declared that the Alibaba IPO could raise an incredible $26 billion for the Chinese e-commerce firm. Morningstar also projected that Alibaba's equity value could reach $220 billion.

This year has been the busiest for initial public offerings since the dot-com era of 1999 – 2001. And the biggest IPOs of 2014 have raised some serious cash.

So far, 135 IPOs have been held and they've raised a total of $29 billion.

But that $29 billion hasn't exactly been spread out evenly. In fact, 28% of this year's total IPO money has been raised by the top five companies.
