What the Burger King Deal Tells Us About Today's Bull Market

The S&P 500 recently hit a new high as it drove through the 2000 mark for the first time in history on the day that Burger King announced that it would purchase iconic Canadian fast food chain Tim Hortons.

Thus far in 2014 there have been $2.3 trillion of announced mergers & acquisitions (M&A) transactions around the world – $1.16 trillion in the United States alone – and undoubtedly there are more on the horizon.

Indeed, M&A activity is a major catalyst for the booming stock market and is good for investors.

Unless it's really a sign of a dying bull… If that's the case, we're in some big trouble.

Apple Stock Price Can Rise 40% in 24 Months (AAPL)

With Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) stock having breached its all-time high recently, many investors have been wondering how much juice the tech giant still has left.

Plenty, says Money Morning Defense & Tech Specialist Michael Robinson, who stated in an appearance on Fox Business' "Varney & Co." today (Wednesday) that the Apple stock price will rise 40% from its current level of about $102 to $142.85 in approximately 24 months.

The One "Great Danger" That Could Send Crude Oil Prices Much Higher

Over the past several months, ISIS forces in Iraq have been selling oil from captured refineries on the black market in order to fund their terrorist activities and wreak havoc on the region.

Despite the crisis in Iraq, crude oil prices are down this month near $93 per barrel.

But Money Morning's Global Energy Strategist Dr. Kent Moors says a "great danger" in the region could send crude oil prices much higher.

Alibaba IPO Update: Profits Triple Ahead of Mega-Deal

Investors received an update on the highly anticipated Alibaba IPO this morning when Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (NYSE: BABA) announced its financial results from Q2.

In its fifth F-1 amendment to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since filing for an IPO, Alibaba noted today that its revenue was $2.54 billion in Q2, a 46% increase from the previous year.
