How Goldman Sachs and D.C. Hosed AIG - and the Taxpayers

Goldman Sachs and the U.S. government have long had a special bond. In fact, that bond has its own name: Crony Capitalism.

Or maybe they're not just cronies; they're lovebirds. Will the public ever get a chance to see this close-fisted couple finally separate? The answer: Maybe. That's thanks to a trial that should have ended over a month ago – one in which 30,000 damning new documents have been made public.

And you won't believe what they reveal...

Stock Market Today Reacts to New Sony Hack

Good morning! U.S. stock futures for Friday, Dec. 26, forecasted a 31-point gain. On Wednesday, the DJIA rose six points to close at a record high. Investor optimism continued on news that the economy is strengthening. Third-quarter GDP hit 5%, while the U.S. economy has seen 2.7 million new jobs added this year – its best performance since 1999.

Today, investors will keep an eye on the energy sector. Despite Wednesday's record-setting session, 20 of the largest 25 daily losers were energy stocks for the session. Large, multinational giants like Chevron Corp., Exxon Mobil Corp., and BP Plc were all up marginally in premarket hours as oil prices ticked upward Friday morning.

2015 Could Be Ford's Best Year Ever

I've been following the brand, and Ford Motor Company itself, since my teen years. And I really stepped up my focus on the company – as an investment – when I became a journalist in the mid-1980s.

Late last month, I predicted that Ford would be one of the best stocks for 2015.

And a report that I came across yesterday bolstered my belief in my forecast.

Let's take a look...

This Stock (Nasdaq: CZR) and Bond Play Just Got Better

The looters of Caesars Palace, whom we recently discussed, are having second thoughts…

On Monday, it was announced that Caesars Entertainment Corp. (Nasdaq: CZR) would acquire affiliate Caesars Acquisition Co. in a stock-for-stock merger.

The move will reassemble some of the pieces that were stolen by the company's private equity owners in an ill-advised attempt to restructure the company's debts on the backs of its creditors.

The merger will consolidate the company's stake in properties such as Planet Hollywood, Bally's Las Vegas, the new Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore, and its Internet gaming businesses with its flagship Caesars Palace property in Las Vegas.
