Many investors panicked over the August 2015 stock market correction. In the four days from Aug. 18-21, the Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 1,300 points. Then on Aug. 24 - "Black Monday" - the DJIA opened 1,000 points lower.
Investors didn't know whether to join the selling spree or ride out the market dip.
