You Won't Believe How Much This 1980 Reagan Attack Ad Sounds Like It's About Trump

We've heard it all...

"Donald Trump is dangerous."

"He's impulsive."

"He scares me."

"He's unqualified to be president."

All around the country, anti-Trump forces - including many Republicans - are expressing these concerns.

They wish he was a more composed, experienced candidate...

They wish for someone like Ronald Reagan. Reagan appealed to both Democrats and Republicans for his measured and thoughtful tone.

But a little trip in the time machine reveals that many Americans had the exact same concerns about Reagan during the 1980 presidential election that they do about Trump now...

Recall that Reagan, like Trump, went into politics after a successful career in the private sector against a much more experienced Jimmy Carter. Reagan was seen by some as a "dangerous" and "unpredictable" political upstart.

Take a look at this Reagan attack ad, put out by the Carter camp back in 1980. The ad features several interviews of average American citizens on the streets of California saying detrimental things about Reagan.

Although separated by over three decades, you'll notice shocking parallels between Americans' perceptions of Reagan then and Trump now:
