It was a good week for bear and inverse funds, which made up eight of our 10 best ETF performers of the week.

After junior gold miners made the winners list last week, the Direxion Daily Gold Miners Bear 3x Shares (NYSE Arca: DUST) was the big winner this time around with a 10.5% gain. Gold itself was down 1.2% for the week. VelocityShares 3x Inverse Silver ETN (Nasdaq: DSLV) rode silver's 3.3% drop to a 9.4% gain.

VelocityShares 3x Inverse Crude Oil ETN (NYSE Arca: DWT) and ProShares UltraShort Bloomberg Crude Oil (NYSE Arca: SCO) both made their second consecutive appearance on the list, with 7.1% and 5% gains, respectively. Direxion Daily S&P Oil & Gas Exp. & Prod. Bear 3x Shares (NYSE Arca: DRIP) joined the party with a 6.8% rise. Oil was down 2.4% for the week.

Shorting emerging markets also played well for the week, as Direxion Daily Russia Bear 3x Shares (NYSE Arca: RUSS) rose 10%, and Direxion Daily FTSE China Bear 3x Shares (NYSE Arca: YANG) was up 4.6%.
