One of the Best Tech Stocks to Buy Now for $5

One of the Best Tech Stocks to Buy Now for $5The gaming market is massive, and its growth numbers are impressive. According to social media marketing company MediaKix, the global gaming market will be worth over $115 billion in 2018.

And this industry is presenting us with one of the best tech stocks to buy now. Best of all, this stock is currently trading near $5 with a huge upside.

Mobile gaming currently accounts for about half of all gaming revenue worldwide. In 2017, that figure was over 80% of the total app revenue from the two leading online stores: Google Play and Apple.

The perception that gaming is a "guy in the basement" activity turns out to be completely wrong. Mobile gaming is now more popular with females than with males.

At over $50 billion last year, mobile-gaming revenue topped that of box-office revenue and came close to the gross domestic product of Costa Rica.

These Gaming Stocks Are Poised to Soar Now

Money Morning Chief Investment Strategist Keith Fitz-Gerald believes there are several factors that will lead to huge returns in the mobile market, particularly for "franchise games" that feature well-known brands or personalities.

One of the biggest catalysts for the industry is plummeting development costs for apps and games. Now that there are online coding libraries and artificial intelligence tools available, the time and resources required to produce a mobile game are much less extensive. That means games can be created much faster, with better margins.

Probably the best part for gaming enthusiasts and tech companies alike is that mobile devices are now everywhere. In the past, having a smartphone was a luxury. They are now viewed as necessities.

According to Statista, just over 36% of the world's population will be using a smartphone by the end of this year, with 2.53 billion of the devices in circulation. By 2020, there are expected to be 2.87 billion smartphones in use worldwide.

The proliferation of these devices increases the potential pool of gamers. It is now more common than ever to see children playing mobile games on a smartphone sitting next to a parent or grandparent doing the same.

Gamers in the past had to wait until they were at home to play their favorite game. Now it fits in a pocket or purse and can be accessed with a few taps. This is also an opportunity for advertisers, content creators, and other influencers to reach a broader audience.

Fitz-Gerald has uncovered the best way to profit from the growth in this sector. If you want to buy a tech stock, this $5 stock is making inroads in the mobile-gaming industry and could soar in 2018...

One of the Best Tech Stocks to Buy Now Is Just $5

Glu Mobile Inc. (Nasdaq: GLUU) may not have produced positive returns in 2015 or 2016, but that changed dramatically in 2017.

Between 2015 and 2016, the company's stock went from $7.60 per share to a low of $1.73. However, the GLUU share price soared 160% in 2017.

What changed? According to Fitz-Gerald, Glu Mobile's management altered its way of thinking and the course of the company.

Glu is a San Francisco-based company that focuses on developing and publishing mobile games for tablet devices and smartphones.

The company was founded as Sorrent in 2001 and develops games for a variety of platforms, including Android, IOS, Amazon, Google Chrome, and Windows Phone.

The company has a new - but experienced - CEO in Nick Earl, who was hired in 2016. Earl had previously run the Worldwide Studios leg of entertainment firm Kabam. He was formerly senior vice president at Electronic Arts Inc. (Nasdaq: EA).

Earl has moved Glu Mobile toward investing in upgrades to its evergreen platforms, such as MLB TSB 18 and WWE. He has also fostered partnerships with Disney Consumer Products, which includes Pixar and Disney characters.

The company's products have been featured in major media outlets such as Variety, Time, Rolling Stone, and even Architectural Digest. One of its most successful games last year was a home-design app called "Design Home," which soared to the top of the download charts and had over one million daily users.

Tencent Holdings Ltd. paid $126 million for a 15% stake in the company in 2015. As of 2017, that stake has increased to 20.82%.

On May 1, Glu reported its Q1 financial results. The company's revenue increased to $81.4 million, which was a 43.30% increase year over year from $56.8 million.

Based on a simple formula, Fitz-Gerald believes that GLUU stock will reach $10.87 per share:

  • A 2019 high estimate is $0.29 per share.
  • P/E ratio of 37.49 equates to that of Electronic Arts.
  • $0.29 per share x 37.59 P/E ratio = $10.87 by year-end 2019.

It's important to remember that GLUU is still a small company. Its market cap is just $612 million, so this would be a speculative investment.

With an investment like this, even with the tempting low share price, it's never a good idea to commit more than 2% of your entire portfolio. The good news is that you have an opportunity to double your investment dollars if you act quickly.

GLUU shares are currently trading at $5.79.
