The Jamaica Stock Exchange Will Join the $204 Billion Cryptocurrency Market

Cryptocurrency investors who are looking for another way to buy into this growing market can soon do so through the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

Jamaica stock ExchangeThe JSE announced on Aug. 14 that it had reached an agreement with Canadian blockchain start-up Blockstation to begin offering cryptocurrency investments as tradable assets on the exchange.

This new agreement allows the JSE to join a growing list of stock exchanges that will be offering this service, which could help boost the value of the cryptocurrency market going forward...

The Future of Cryptocurrencies on the Jamaica Stock Exchange

The JSE and Blockstation have been working on their cryptocurrency partnership since the beginning of 2018.

Its new offering will include quotes, trading, and settlement services. This will all take place in a format aligning with the current compliance and regulatory standards for investments and cryptocurrencies.

In making this move, JSE joins a growing list of stocks exchanges around the world that are opening up to investing in cryptocurrencies.

In July, the Gibraltar Stock Exchange launched its cryptocurrency trading platform. This new platform supports the ability to trade Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Ethereum Classic (ETC) against USD.

Also in July, the Malta Stock Exchange signed a deal with Binance, Fifth Force, and OKEx for the development and launch of blockchain-powered platforms.

One of the platforms that the team develops will allow the listing and trading of cryptocurrencies.

The second-largest stock exchange in Germany, called Boerse Stuttgart, is also creating a complete digital asset infrastructure. It will have a mobile-based application for crypto trading called BISON as well as a specialized platform to handle ICOs and a custody and trading venue for cryptocurrencies.

And with more options to purchase cryptocurrencies, that could help prices climb.

In fact, Samson Williams of Axes & Eggs, a Bitcoin and cryptocurrency mining company, projects the price of Bitcoin will climb to $20,000 by the end of 2018.
