The season-opening race for NASCAR, the Daytona 500 is held in late February.
It's one of my favorite times of year - because it's a hint that spring isn't too, too far away.
And it always makes me think of my favorite racer of all time - the now-retired Sterling Marlin - and a racing philosophy that allowed him to dominate NASCAR's two fastest race tracks: The Daytona International Speedway in Florida and the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.
