Why the Gloom-and-Doomers Are Wrong About Corning

Back in November, when Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) signed a $587 million supply agreement that would let it use a new "sapphire" display material in its iPhones and iPads, lots of folks started writing eulogies for Corning Inc. (NYSE: GLW), since the new GT Advanced Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: GTAT) display product would apparently supplant some or all of Corning's famous "Gorilla Glass" material.
