My Dad, William Patalon Jr., is one of my personal heroes.
In fact, he's flat out the most remarkable man I've ever known.
You just can't help but be awed by a guy who has two physics degrees and spent his career as an engineer and entrepreneur, but was also able to restore antique cars, build flawless kitchen cabinetry, help me repaint and replumb my house, and offer me the best life and career advice I've ever received.
He helped me with every hobby I've ever had - from radios to race cars to radio-control model airplanes. Oh, and he's able to play six or eight different musical instruments - including the violin, bass fiddle, bass horn, guitar, electric organ and piano.
This musical talent is the focus of my story today - because it leads me to a story about the Memorial Day holiday.
