Last weekend - in a column that compared the brewing fantasy sports scandal with the Mt. Gox/bitcoin mess of February 2014 - I said the fact that the fantasy sites fell into a "No-Man's Land" of regulation that was likely to ignite intense scrutiny.
And that's exactly what's happening.
The FBI has launched an investigation of the whole fantasy sports business.
According to The New York Times, the FBI "has begun an inquiry into the practices of booming daily fantasy sports sites after players and lawmakers made allegations of predatory tactics and questioned the use of inside information, according to players who said they have been contacted by investigators."
