North Korea on Sunday made good on a promise to put an observation satellite into Earth orbit - ignoring growing global pressures to abandon its rocket and nuclear-weapons testing.
The launch was viewed as a "strategic provocation" by its neighbor to the south and may actually have been a technical failure. U.S. security officials today said the newly launched satellite is actually "tumbling" in space - rendering it useless for its stated purpose.
