The One Threat Even Scarier Than Michael Myers

You might remember the 1978 film Halloween as the flick that launched the whole "slasher" genre.

I remember it for other reasons.

It came out during my final year at Bel Air Senior High, so several buddies and I watched it at the old-fashioned Main Street Theater in my hometown of Bel Air, Md. In fact, we watched it a bunch of times.

There's one little facet of this movie - a piece of trivia - that's always fascinated me.

Although the hulking, mask-wearing killer is referred to as "Michael Myers" throughout the 91-minute film, when the credits finally roll he's referred to only as "The Shape."

It's a brilliant "device."
