This week, a whole new form of business got its start in Pittsburgh - that former titan of the steel industry.
On Wednesday, Uber Technologies Inc. launched a self-driving car pilot program there with a handful of Ford Fusions and more than 100 Volvos. That makes Pittsburgh - the "hub" of the region where I spent my preteen years - the first U.S. city where passengers can hail a ride in a driverless car.
