We talk all the time here about the "Convergence Economy" - the merging of two or more paths of technology into a new, innovation-unlocking creation.
Think about a few examples. You take powerful computers, meld them with superfast networks and add in massive amounts of speedy memory - and you get The Cloud.
That invention cascades into the Internet of Everything (IoE), which lets us turn almost anything imaginable into a data-gathering piece of technology. This, in turn, opens the door to all sorts of life-enhancing, and life-saving inventions.
Smart homes and smart cities. Remote diagnostic healthcare. Movies and music of the type we want, at the time we want and in the place we want.
