BlackBerry Ltd. (Nasdaq: BBRY) stock rose 2.46% in mid-day trading today (Monday) after pre-orders for its newest phone began on Oct. 23. The Priv is Blackberry's first Android phone. Chief Executive Officer John Chen stated that "Priv will be the answer for former BlackBerry users who miss the physical keyboard but want more apps." According to technology news company The Verge, Chen acknowledged that BlackBerry will leave the smartphone business if sales do not improve. The BBRY stock price has recorded wild swings over the last year, trading at a high of $12.63 and a low of $5.96 per share.
