Cheniere Energy Inc. (NYSE: LNG) is expected to build the first liquefied natural gas export terminal in the Port of Corpus Christi, Texas. The $12 billion construction project will begin within the next 60 days. Cheniere is now on track to be the only company with two LNG export projects underway.
Cheniere was the first company in the U.S. to receive federal approval to export LNG with its Sabine Pass project. Cheniere is tentatively scheduled to start shipping LNG as soon as late 2015 from its $10 billion Sabine Pass terminal in southwestern Louisiana.
