government shutdown 2015 update

The last government shutdown that lasted 16 days in October 2013 cost taxpayers $24 billion, among other economy-crippling effects.

It's no wonder why the U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly today (78-20) in favor of legislation that's on track to avert a government shutdown October 1.

Now the U.S. House of Representatives must pass it before the midnight deadline - and there are still two more hurdles to pass before the government shutdown in 2015 is avoided...
