DJIA Today, Dec. 15, 2014: The Dow Jones fell another 100 points Monday as oil prices continued to slump. The market swung wildly in today's session before settling lower.

The S&P 500 Volatility Index (VIX), the market's fear gauge, dropped 2.94% on the day.

Good morning! Stock market futures today forecast a 59-point decrease from Friday's close on concerns about growth in Japan and a lackluster oil price forecast.

What to watch today: Investors will keep an eye on oil prices after Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) slashed its oil forecast through the year 2019. The investment bank predicted that the global energy markets would hit its oversupply peak in the second quarter of 2015, fueled by OPEC's decision not to reduce production.

Stock Market Today Boosted by Better-than-Expected Bank Earnings

U.S. equities marched higher - by a smidge - in the stock market today, one day after benchmarks logged fresh records.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished at 15,464.07, up 3.15 points, or 0.02%. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index ended at 1,680.19, up 5.17 points, and the Nasdaq closed at 3,600.08, up 21.78 points.
