Not long ago - and not really knowing why - I stopped at a garage sale... just to see what the folks in that house were selling.
Most of it was junk: The couple who lived there were moving and wanted to offload some of the stuff they knew they wouldn't be packing. The hot sellers -the stuff that most folks were drooling over - were sports-related collectibles... that I had no interest in.
But on the corner of one table was a small wooden box. With dovetail joints, I could see it was very well made... and old. Despite the scuff marks and dings that showed it was well traveled, it was still nicely finished.
