Sportswriters often say that auto racing is the one sport that holds its "Super Bowl" or "World Series" at the start of the season - instead of at the end.
I'm talking, of course, about the Daytona 500 - held every February at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla.
And like its counterparts in baseball and football, the Daytona 500 isn't merely a single contest.
It's an "event" - a series of races and all the associated pageantry - that culminates with the "World Series of Motorsports."
It's known as "Speedweeks at Daytona."
