My Dad is a retired engineer, having worked for Hamilton Standard, Pratt & Whitney, Westinghouse Electric and Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC). Those last two billets actually counted as one job – more than four decades of continuous service – since the Westinghouse electronics systems unit was snapped up by flying-wing pioneer Northrop back in the 1990s.
