Currency Trading: Stellar Drop in the Euro Triggered $3,000 Profit

Last week's U.S. Federal Reserve decision – by which the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) left rates unchanged, but more importantly did not change their rhetoric going forward about the condition of the economy, or the future plans to taper excessive stimulus – delivered a very memorable week for currency trading.

Plunging from a high of just above 1.38 to a close at the weekly low of 1.3485, the EUR/USD collapsed 315 pips (points in percentage) to gain more than $3,000 on a single contract.

Of course, as all good traders know, one does not pick the absolute high and the absolute low…

The Biggest Tech IPOs to Hit the Market

Thursday, micro-blogging site Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) will debut as a publicly traded company on Wall Street's Big Board. Many analysts – including those at Money Morning – will steer clear of the hotly anticipated IPO – but TWTR has had no trouble generating investor interest.

The San Francisco-based company even increased its price range Monday on roughly 70 million shares from $17 to $20 per share to $23 to $25. The move values the company at a whopping $13.9 billion, or 26 times its revenue over the last 12 months. Twitter hopes to raise as much as $1.75 billion.

Tesla Motors (Nasdaq: TSLA) Stock Up 8% Ahead of Earnings; Here's What to Watch

Tesla Motors Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA) has seen a meteoric rise of 410% since the start of 2013, and the electric automaker is set to announce its third-quarter earnings tomorrow (Tuesday) after market close. TSLA climbed 8% today to $175.18 ahead of the report.

Analysts predict earnings of $0.11 per share for the electric automobile manufacturer. The California-based company suffered an earnings loss of $0.92 per share in the third quarter of 2012.
