The Best Stock Under $10?

Editor's Note: Bill recommended this little security firm to his Private Briefing readers back in June, when shares traded for $6.10. They closed above $9 a share last week, but Bill thinks there's still a ton of upside here. And thanks to some analyst-induced selling yesterday, you can buy all this growth potential at an even better price…

Since we recommended Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS)back on June 6, the stock has soared nearly 40%.

And we believe there's more to come.

And wait until you see all the new business this $475 million small cap is landing...

Here's What $1.2 Quadrillion Looks Like

The global derivatives market is big. Really big. So big – and so unregulated – in fact that no one really knows exactly how big it is, but the very best estimates put the notional value at $1.2 quadrillion dollars. That handily beats the entire world's "GDP" of $71.8 trillion. The number is so big that it really defies anything on a human scale. Humans don't do quadrillions of anything – at least not usually.

Or think of it this way: There are about 2 quadrillion stars in the "El Gordo" cluster, the largest cluster of galaxies we've observed so far. The derivatives market is galactic in scope.

BREAKING: Bernanke to Continue Controversial Bond Buying Program

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke announced in a press conference this afternoon that the U.S. Federal Reserve will continue quantitative easing, the controversial bond buying program, for now. Chairman Bernanke expressed concern over rising borrowing costs and their effect on the economy, saying that the situation calls for continued quantitative easing.

Analysts on and off Wall Street were surprised, to put it mildly. Markets responded very well to news of continued easy-money policy. The mainstream consensus was that the Fed would begin to taper off its $85 billion monthly bond purchases by around $10 or $15 billion each month. Current pricing just didn't take continued bond buying into account, and the bullish reaction was immediate, intense, and widespread.

Don't Feel Bad If You Miss Out on the Twitter Stock IPO

The Twitter stock IPO is going to happen – it's no longer a question of if, but of when. The company is the latest social media concern to go public, and investors and commentators alike are looking forward to the festivities.

It remains to be seen whether or not NASDAQ can avoid the issues that it ran into with Facebook Inc. (Nasdaq: FB). That IPO was one of the biggest in history. The company had a market cap of $104 billion, unprecedented for an IPO.

Make This Oil Move Immediately

From the Editor: In yesterday's members-only message, you got a rare look at Kent's track record and why he averages 55% on every recommendation. Today, Kent recommends a short-term move, based on the latest developments in Syria…

Damascus may have dodged a bullet (or a cruise missile), but nothing else has changed very much. Not in terms of risk.

That explains why the "Syrian Premium" remains. It may be slightly reduced, as you'll see. But it is likely to stay with us even after the threat of a military solution has been averted.

At least for now...

Short Selling in 2013: Why These Billion-Dollar Bets Went Bad - And What's Ahead

Short sellers got burned this year because they forgot these "golden rules" of investing…

If you looked at holdings of hedge fund barons William Ackman and David Einhorn at the start of 2013, it looked like 2013 was a year for short selling.

In December 2012, Ackman placed a $1 billion bet that Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF), which he calls "a pyramid scheme," would fail. Einhorn bet against Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (Nasdaq: GMCR) back in October 2011.
