U.S. Infrastructure Problems Told in 10 Scary Numbers

By 2020, 420 million people are projected to be using the country's roads, water projects, public hospitals, and other groundwork – that hasn't been updated in about 50 years.

U.S. infrastructure problems are at a dangerous place, and nothing's being done. The U.S. spends only 2.6% per year on average on infrastructure relative to GDP. By comparison, China spends 8.5%, Japan spends 5%, and India spends 4.7%.

"Our infrastructure is on life support right now. You could go to any major city in America and see roads and bridges and infrastructure that need to be fixed today," former secretary of transportation Ray LaHood said.
