As Another Sector's Sails Lose Wind, Watch This One Barometer

One by one, the bubbles are bursting…

First it was the commodities bubble that blew up in mid-2014, which caused the collapse of energy and commodity stocks -they are now down between 40-80%.

It also caused the end of the corporate credit bubble in high yield bonds and bank loans over the second half of 2014 and into this year.

Then the Chinese stock market, which had gone parabolic early this year, collapsed, sending global markets into a tailspin this summer.

Gold Stocks Break Out of Slump - and This Rally Looks Stronger

The Fed did gold stocks a big favor on Sept. 17 in not raising interest rates. This sector has been mired in a correction since late 2011, but signs increasingly suggest that's coming to an end.

The action in recent months has been encouraging, leading savvy investors to examine, or re-examine, gold stocks as one of the few values the market still has to offer.

Here's What Happens to the Stock Market When the Pope Visits the U.S.

What happens to the stock market when the pope visits is nothing short of a miracle.

Today (Friday) marks the fifth time in history a pontiff will address the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Pope Francis is the fourth pope to do so – Pope John Paul II addressed the UN twice on American soil, in 1979 and in 1995.

Past visits from the Holy See have always included this one unintentional gift...
