This Ben Carson Politico Story Is One of the Worst Spin Jobs of This Election

On Friday at 11:29 a.m., Politico published a hit piece about 2016 presidential candidate Ben Carson entitled, "Ben Carson Admits Fabricating West Point Scholarship."

The story alleges Carson's campaign "admitted" to the publication he "fabricated" his scholarship to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, which is detailed in his autobiography, "Gifted Hands." The story also suggests Carson lied about his "acceptance" into West Point.

The Ben Carson Politico story is false. And it's poor journalism.

Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE: XOM) is being probed by the New York attorney general for allegedly shielding the risks of climate change from its investors. The Exxon Mobil stock price is down 1.53% today to $83.49.

Over the past decade, Exxon has published research consistent with mainstream beliefs about climate change. Yet, investigators believe there might be inconsistency between Exxon's research and its statements to investors.
